A Clear Alternative is a family-owned water treatment company based at 9230 Collins Ave in Pennsauken, New Jersey. How we started

A Clear Alternative opened in Pennsauken in 1991. Thirty-five years later we are still family-owned, still based on Collins Ave, and still focused on the same eight South Jersey counties. We test the water first, explain the results in plain language, and recommend only the equipment that fixes the problem we find.

What we do

How we work

We test before we recommend. Every recommendation starts with your actual water readings. South Jersey water problems follow the geology. Iron, low pH, hardness, sulfur, and bacteria all show up in different towns for different reasons, so a system that works in Medford can be the wrong choice in Hammonton.

We size equipment to the problem. We work with multiple manufacturers and use standard, widely available parts and media. You are not locked into one brand or one proprietary filter.

We stay after the install. We sell, service, and rent water treatment equipment, and we stock the salt and chemicals it needs. The same local company answers the phone long after the system goes in.

We are licensed for more than homes. Our technicians are NJ-licensed, and we hold NJ State Licensed Operator credentials for very small water systems through T-4. That lets us operate and maintain community wells, schools, churches, campgrounds, restaurants, and other systems on their own supply.
