Emergency Services

24/7 emergency water service across South Jersey
Water problems do not keep business hours. A well pump quits on a Sunday night, a pipe lets go in January, a filter head cracks and floods a utility room, or a pool has to be filled before an inspection in the morning. A Clear Alternative has answered those calls since 1991, and our emergency line is answered around the clock, every day of the year.
What we handle on an emergency call
- No water at the tap. Well pump failures, pressure tank problems, frozen or failed supply lines, and control valves that have stopped passing water.
- Sudden water quality changes. Water that turns brown, cloudy, oily or foul-smelling overnight, which usually points to a failed filter bed, a disturbed well, or a media tank that has channelled.
- Leaking or flooding equipment. Cracked filter heads, split brine tanks, failed bypass valves, and softeners stuck in regeneration.
- Burst pipes and water damage. We shut the system down, isolate the failure, and get you safely back in service.
- Emergency bulk water delivery. When a well is down, a main is out, or a construction or pool deadline cannot move, we deliver bulk potable and non-potable water by tanker.
- Contamination scares. A boil-water notice, a flooded wellhead, or a failed lab result — we test, advise, and treat.
What to do before we arrive
- Shut the water off at the main valve if anything is leaking or flooding.
- Cut power to the equipment if water is anywhere near the electrical connections on a pump, softener or filter.
- Stop drinking it. If the water changed colour, smell or taste, do not drink, cook with, or make ice from it until it has been tested.
- Photograph what you see — the equipment, the leak and the water itself. It speeds up diagnosis and helps with any insurance claim.
- Have your details ready. Well or municipal supply, roughly how old the equipment is, and what changed and when.
Where we respond
We run emergency service throughout the eight New Jersey counties we cover: Burlington, Camden, Atlantic, Gloucester, Salem, Cape May, Mercer and Monmouth. See every town on our areas we serve page. We do not currently serve Cumberland or Ocean County.
Our own trucks and technicians do the work — emergency calls are not handed to a subcontractor.
Emergency water service questions
Do you really answer the phone at 2am?
Yes. 1-888-577-8088 is answered by a person 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. You will not be left with a voicemail box during a water emergency.
How fast can you get here?
It depends on where you are and what else is running, but we dispatch to genuine no-water and flooding emergencies the same day wherever we can, and we will tell you honestly on the phone when we can be there rather than guess.
What does an emergency call cost?
Cost depends on what we find and what the repair needs. We diagnose the problem, explain what it will take, and price the work before we start it. Financing is available for larger repairs and replacements.
My water suddenly looks or smells wrong. Is it an emergency?
Treat it as one until it has been tested. A sudden change often means a failed filter, a disturbed or flooded well, or bacteria. Stop drinking it and call us. In New Jersey, iron above 0.3 ppm and manganese above 0.05 ppm are action levels, and both can appear abruptly when a filter bed fails.
Can you deliver water if my well is down for days?
Yes. We run bulk potable and non-potable delivery by tanker, so we can keep a household, farm, jobsite or pool supplied while the underlying problem is fixed. See bulk water delivery.
Is the water analysis free during an emergency call?
The in-home water analysis is genuinely free, with no obligation. Every quote follows that analysis, and we price the job before any work starts.
